Octoxic parents Patricia Cobe and Ellen Parlapiano popularized the term “Mompreneur”. In their book, by the same name, they teach home-based business owners,
You will have to establish house rules and employ a few creative tricks to deter kids from interfering with the business.
They describe a survey revealing the #1 thing their mom readers enjoy about working from home:
…seeing kids when I want.
Yet the single most difficult interview for me to arrange was one with an adult who survived that brand of daily trauma. Victims refused to discuss it. These grown children largely honored their parents, despite being severely abused/neglected by them.
One husband told me that his wife refused to let him go into the business he was passionate about, because of what it was like for her to be raised in a profit-first home office. Beautifully, moms and dads forced to abandon full-time corporate cubicles and classroom cubbies in the covid era, used it as their launching pad to recover the losses incurred in child-free, parent-segregated workplaces.
It’s why The Holy Spirit whispered the term Genpreneur in my ear. As a professional mom co-working alongside my newborn from home, my E-Book, Relocate Your Inner Mom shows you how I integrated the baby and the business. It required me to optimize the special needs of our team, beginning with mine. Then my newborn and I carved a path right through the corporate jungle while co-working. The majority of my clients worked from home after getting one too many calls from the preschool about their child’s behavior. So, there’s no reason for you to reinvent the wheel. Engage in active parenting and simply take advantage of the resources I’ve developed for parents like you and me? And in this election season, what should matter to us as Genpreneurs based on their track record in office is, “Where do Harris and Trump stand on issues that matter to us?”
I’m Adelaide. Thanks for reading.
